This is the Toyota Fortuner 4×4 model. It is the same as it was when I bought it in 2021. Even after 5 years, there is no change in it.
Coming to the exterior, there are the same alloy wheels. There is no change in the bumper. The headlights are also unchanged.
The power capacity of the vehicle also continues to be the same. It has 204 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque.
Big Vhange – Price Hike
There has been only one big change in the Toyota Fortuner 4×4 model in these 5 years – and that is the price.
When I bought this Fortuner 4×4 model in 2021, its price was between ₹37 lakhs to ₹38 lakhs (Ex-showroom price). But now, the price of the same model has increased to ₹45 lakhs.
That is, the price alone has now increased by up to ₹7 lakh. Although there is no change in the vehicle, the price hike is huge.

5-fold increase in sales
Despite the price hike, the Toyota Fortuner has been a big hit in sales.
5 years ago, the Fortuner was selling only about 700 units per month. But today, the same Fortuner is selling about 3500 units per month. This is five times more than the previous sales figure.
The main reason for this growth is the trust that the Toyota Fortuner has created among the Indian people and its reputation as a quality and powerful vehicle.
Despite the high price, people who realize its value have welcomed it very much.

Rear Passenger Seat – Some Shortcomings
Although the seat for the rear passengers is comfortable, there are some shortcomings.
There is enough space when looking at the leg room. You can stretch your legs without any difficulty. But there may be a slight deficiency in head room. My height is 6 feet 1 inch. When I sat in the seat behind me, I felt like my head was touching the ceiling.
So, taller people should keep in mind that the rear headroom will be a bit less.
Ventilation System
Since this Fortuner has a 48 volt mild hybrid system, its DC-DC converter is installed below the rear seat.
As a result, ventilated seats are not provided since the converter is usually located where ventilated seats are installed.
That is, due to the location of the hybrid technology, some facilities have to be sacrificed.

USB Type-C Port
This model does not provide a USB Type-C port. But the Legender variant of the same Fortuner has two Type-C ports.
That is, compared to the Thunder model, the Legender variant is slightly ahead in terms of facilities.
Third Row Seats
The space in the 3rd Row Seats is very limited. Adults cannot sit comfortably in that space. The legs fold up and the headroom is also less. These seats are mainly suitable for children or small children.
So, when the whole family is going on a long trip together, the 3rd Row can be difficult for adults.
Boot Space & Tailgate
This Fortuner has an electric tailgate facility, so the trunk can be opened automatically. Boot space is just enough to store cabin size bags or small luggage.
Like many 7-seater cars, it gives a slightly cramped boot space due to the third row of seats.
The design of the tail light is also unchanged. The same design has been continued even now, as it was 5 years ago.
Toyota Fortuner – Driving Experience
When driving this Fortuner, the transmission (gear change) sometimes changes quickly and without elegance at first.
As a result, driving in city traffic especially in stop-and-go situations can be a bit difficult.
But once the gear is properly engaged and stable, the car provides a nice, smooth driving experience.
