3 New Electric Scooters Under Rs 1 Lakh

India’s electric two-wheeler industry is growing rapidly. Seeing this, traditional petrol vehicle manufacturers like Hero, Bajaj and TVS are now planning to offer electric vehicles at low prices.

That is, these three companies are going to launch new electric scooters in the Indian market soon at a price of less than Rs 1 lakh. Through this, they are trying to compete with the sales of the Ola Electric company, which is currently popular in that price segment.

Overall, this could be a good opportunity for customers who want to buy electric vehicles at a low price. Hero, Bajaj and TVS are coming up with new models to establish themselves in this competition.

1.TVS Jupiter EV

TVS is planning to launch a new electric scooter in India at a cheaper price than the existing iQube model. This model is expected to be launched during the Diwali festival season (October or November). The new scooter is said to have a very simple design, basic features, and a comparatively small battery.

It is likely to be called Jupiter EV, as the name has already been trademarked. The scooter is likely to be priced between Rs 85,000 and Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom). It will be TVS’s “entry-level” electric vehicle, meaning it will serve as the entry-level model in the company’s electric vehicle lineup. It will be launched towards customers looking for an electric vehicle at a lower price.

2.Hero Vida VX2

Hero MotoCorp has announced that it will launch a low-cost electric scooter in India on July 1, 2025. The model has been named Vida VX2. It will be a rebadged version of the Vida Z model that was already showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.

The scooter will come in three variants – VX2 Lite, VX2 Plus, and VX2 Pro. In an attempt to keep the price down and attract customers, the VX2 may drop some of the high-end features found in the Vida V2. But its electric motor and battery are said to be the same as the previous Vida V2 model. The starting price of the VX2 scooter is expected to be Rs. 65,000 (ex-showroom). This will be the cheapest electric scooter offered by the Hero company.

3.New Bajaj electric scooter

Bajaj Auto is planning to launch a new electric scooter by the end of June 2025, aiming to further strengthen its position in the Indian electric vehicle market. This information has been directly confirmed by the company’s Executive Director Rakesh Sharma.

This model is expected to be offered at a much lower price than the models in the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter line that have come up so far. It is also worth noting that the new model will be built on the 2903 platform. Not much information about this scooter has been officially released at the moment. However, Bajaj is expected to share more information about it in the coming days.

These three leading companies – Hero, Bajaj and TVS – are all planning to enter the highly sought-after sub-Rs 1 lakh electric scooter segment of the Indian vehicle market. Offering electric vehicles at such affordable prices will be a big boon, especially for the public looking to buy electric vehicles for the first time. This is seen as a significant move to increase India’s electric vehicle adoption and accelerate the EV transition.
