How to Deal with an Earthquake? – NCS Guidelines
- If an earthquake occurs in a place, you should immediately get out of the buildings.
- You should stand in a place free from trees and electric poles.
- After the earthquake, there is a possibility that the electricity connections or gas pipes may be damaged. To avoid any leakage or fire, the main switch and gas connections should be turned off.
- You should immediately inform the authorities (Electricity Board, Municipal Corporation, Police, Fire Department) about the damage to your home, office or surroundings. This way, emergency assistance can be provided quickly and further hazards can be avoided.

Comparison with Previous Earthquakes
This earthquake is being compared to the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal last month. At that time, tremors were felt in Delhi and its surrounding areas (NCR). However, no major damage was caused in that earthquake. This is in contrast to the 4 magnitude earthquake that struck this time. Because even though it was a small earthquake, the tremors were felt very strongly. People are very scared.
Conclusion
The 4 magnitude earthquake that struck Delhi-NCR region, despite being small, was felt by people with great fear. The earthquake that occurred in the morning disturbed the sleep of many and forced them to come out of their homes. Political leaders, officials, and the general public shared their experiences on social media.
Although the current earthquake was small, the impact of the tremors was high. Therefore, it is not only important to see the intensity of the earthquake. It is also important to see the impact of it. Everyone should follow safety measures. Furthermore, authorities should provide the necessary awareness and precautions to the public.
