Hyundai is reportedly planning to launch a new compact SUV called Bayon in 2026, aiming to further strengthen its vehicle lineup in India. It will be designed to directly compete with the currently best-selling Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The new vehicle is being developed internally under the codename Bc4i.

Furthermore, Hyundai is planning to launch a total of 26 new vehicles in the Indian market by the financial year 2030. This includes newly developed models, improved versions of existing models, and 6 more electric vehicles. Through this initiative, Hyundai wants to strengthen its share and lineup across multiple vehicle types and price points.
New competition in the compact SUV market
Hyundai is set to launch its new generation Venue model by the end of this year. Along with this, an updated facelift version of the Exter model will be launched in 2026. In the same year, Hyundai is planning to add a new model to its compact SUV lineup called Bayon. This model is based on the Maruti Baleno and will directly compete with the Maruti Fronx, which is currently the best-selling car in India. Not only this, the vehicle is also designed to compete with other compact SUVs like Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
