Hyundai has launched two variants – the new S Smart and SX Smart – priced between ₹7.68 lakh and ₹8.16 lakh. The new S Smart and SX Smart variants of Exter are available at very affordable prices. The S Smart variant starts at ₹7.68 lakh (ex-showroom), and the SX Smart is priced at ₹8.16 lakh. This is in the most affordable price range in the Indian market.
The car is offered with 1.2-litre petrol and CNG engine options. This is the engine option that offers the highest mileage, with a mileage of up to 27 kmpl, making it an attractive option.
The 2025 model has been updated with some new tech features. These include advanced features like an electric sunroof, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and projector headlamps.
In terms of safety features, these variants come with 6 airbags and hill assist control, ensuring the safety of the passengers. This makes it a safety-centric SUV.
The car comes with a 3-year or 1 lakh km warranty, providing users with reliability and peace of mind. All these features together put the Hyundai XC90 at the forefront of its class.

The Hyundai Exter is available in two engine options: 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre CNG. The petrol engine produces 81 PS of power at 5,500 RPM and 113.8 Nm of torque at 4,200 RPM. It returns a mileage of 19.2 kmpl with the manual transmission and 19.4 kmpl with the automatic (AMT) transmission.
The other option, the 1.2-litre CNG engine, delivers less power than the petrol at 67 PS and 95.2 Nm of torque. But it offers a much better mileage it can travel up to 27 km per kg of CNG (as per ARAI data).
Both these engine options offer users the opportunity to combine power and lightweight cost.
The S Smart variant comes with key features that provide a hygienic and modern experience to the passengers. In this, you can enjoy better light and ventilation through the electric sun roof. With TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), you can directly know whether the tires have the correct air pressure. Rear AC vents also provide equal cooling to the passengers sitting in the back.
The technological features have been further enhanced in the SX Smart variant. The vehicle can be started without a key with the push start button. The 9-inch Harman infotainment system allows easy use of features including audio, navigation. Safety and convenience are available while reversing with the rear camera and parking sensors.
Both these variants offer advancements in technology, convenience and user experience.
The Hyundai Exter comes with two levels of safety features standard and optional.
Among the standard safety features, 6 airbags are there to provide complete protection to the passengers. ABS (Antilock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) enhance the stopping safety of the vehicle. Hill Hold Assist helps prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards on sloping roads. ISOFIX child seat mounts ensure that children can be seated with greater safety.
Additionally, the High Speed Alert System warns the driver when the speed limit is exceeded. In the SX Smart variant, there is a free emergency braking facility, which automatically applies the brakes to avoid potential collisions. All these features enhance the safety standard of the vehicle.
