Indian Army – Eligibility Details
These Eligibility Details (Eligibility Criteria) explain what kind of educational qualifications and NCC related qualifications the candidates who want to apply for the NCC Special Entry Scheme of the Indian Army should have.
Educational Qualification
Must have completed graduation in any stream. Must have secured at least 50% marks (Minimum 50% Marks). It can be applied in any field like Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering. But the total marks should not be less than 50%.
NCC (National Cadet Corps) Eligibility
Must have Ward/Senior Division NCC ‘C’ certificate. Minimum Grade – ‘B’ grade. This certificate should be valid within 24 months from the date of application
That is, you should have completed training in NCC and obtained ‘C’ certificate. This certificate should have a minimum ‘B’ grade. Also, the validity period of this certificate should be 2 years (24 months).

Physical Fitness
The physical standards that men and women who want to apply for the Indian Army NCC Special Entry Scheme have been given.
Height Requirement
- Men should be at least 157.5 cm.
- Women should be at least 152 cm.
Weight Requirement
- BMI (Body Mass Index) should be 18-25.
That is, the body weight should be correct according to the height. - There should be no excessive underweight or overweight.
Chest Expansion – For men only
- When men take a deep breath, the chest should expand by at least 5 cm.
- This measurement is not required for women.
Vision Requirement
- One eye should have 6/6 (perfect vision).
- Concessions will be given if the other eye has a slight deviation.

NCC Special Entry Scheme – Selection Procedure (SSB Exam Details)
The three main steps for the selection of candidates who wish to apply for this NCC Special Entry Scheme are explained below.
Step 1: Online Application
- Candidates should register on the official website joinindianarmy.nic.in.
- Information including eligibility details, educational qualifications, NCC certificate should be entered correctly in the application.
Step 2: SSB (Services Selection Board) Exam – 5 Days
This SSB exam will be held for 5 days and will have different stages of testing.
Day 1: Screening Test
- Literature (OIR – Officers Intelligence Rating Test): This will include questions on General Knowledge, Basic Knowledge, Logical Reasoning etc.
- PPDT (Picture Perception & Description Test): Through this, emotional control, companionship, and leadership skills will be assessed.
- Only after passing this can you move on to the next stage.
Day 2,3,4: GTO (Group Testing Officer) tasks & leadership tests.
- What will happen on these three days?
- Group Tasks tests.
- Leadership tests.
- This test will be conducted in the form of Lecturette, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview.
The purpose of these tests is:
- To see how you work in a group.
- To predict how you understand and solve problems.
- Leadership, emotional control, physical and mental strength are tested.
Day 5: Medical Examination
- Those who pass the SSB exam will undergo a medical examination.
- A complete medical examination will be conducted to check whether the physical and mental health are in order.
- Only after this examination is completed, there will be a chance to be included in the final selection list (Merit List).
Step 3: Final Merit List
- After the completion of the SSB exam and medical examination, the final selection list will be published based on the total marks (Merit-based).
- Only those who qualify in all the above exams will get the opportunity to join the army through NCC Special Entry.
- Selected candidates will be called to their training centers.

- Lieutenant. This is an entry-level officer position. It is commonly called “Chief Officer”.
Salary Details
- Starting Salary: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500.
- Pay Level: Level 10 Pay Matrix (Based on 7th Pay Commission) Monthly Salary: ₹56,100/- to ₹1,77,500/-.
- In addition to this, DA, HRA, and various Allowances will be available.

NCC Special Entry Scheme 2025 Registration Procedure in Indian Army
Through this NCC Special Entry Scheme 2025, both men and women get the opportunity to join the Indian Army as an officer. The online method to apply has been explained below. Applicants have to apply online through the website joinindianarmy.nic.in.
- Go to the website joinindianarmy.nic.in from your computer / mobile.
- Select the option “Officer Entry Apply/Login” on the home page.
- When the next page opens, click on the option “NCC Special Entry Scheme 53rd Course”.
- The Application Form will open. Fill in your personal and educational details correctly.

Important Warnings (AAD Information)
Only official government websites should be used. Check for government website domains like “.gov.in” and “.nic.in”. Avoid applying on fake & private websites.
Aadhaar Number is mandatory while applying. Your name, date of birth etc. must match with Aadhaar details. OTP based Aadhaar Verification will be done during the application process. Before registering, ensure that your Aadhaar details are entered correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can 12th pass students apply?
Answer: No! Candidates who wish to apply should have completed Bachelor’s Degree from a UGC recognized university. Those who have studied only 12th class will be considered ineligible for this post.

Are There any Opportunities for Those Who Wear Glasses?
