Uttarakhand Kedarnath Helicopter Crash: 7 Dead, Frequent Accidents.

The helicopter crash in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand is very sad. At around 5 am today, a helicopter belonging to Aryan Aviation took off from the helipad in the Kedarnath area towards Guptakasi. Contact with the helicopter was lost within a few minutes of taking off. Following this, the authorities declared it missing.

After this, people in the Gaurigund area noticed smoke coming out and confirmed that the helicopter had crashed. All seven people on board the helicopter died in the accident. This is a very sad incident.

More importantly, this is the fifth helicopter accident on the Char Dham Yatra route in the last 40 days, which is a very worrying matter. The continued occurrence of such accidents highlights the need for the government and helicopter service companies to seriously consider safety measures.

Death toll

The details of the seven people who died in the helicopter crash have now been officially released. The pilot, Captain Rajveer Singh Chauhan, is the main one. He was flying the helicopter when the accident occurred. Also on board were Rajkumar Suresh Jaiswal (41 years old), his wife Shraddha Jaiswal (35 years old), and their 23-month-old child Kashi, from Maharashtra.

Apart from them, Vikram (46 years old) from Rudraprayag, and Vinod Dev (66 years old) and Dusti Singh (29 years old) from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, also died in the incident. It is a matter of great sorrow that several families have lost their lives in this tragic incident on the same trip.

SDRF officer Anirudh Bhandari said

SDRF officer Anirudh Bhandari and District Tourism Officer Rahul Chaubey have confirmed the information surrounding the helicopter crash. Anirudh Bhandari said that it is clear that all seven people on board the helicopter have died in the accident.

District Tourism Officer and in-charge of helicopter services Rahul Chaubey said that after receiving information about the helicopter not being contacted in the morning of the accident, search operations were immediately launched. The helicopter was on its way back from Kedarnath Dham to its base at Guptakhasi when the weather conditions were very bad. Due to the dry and harsh weather conditions, the pilot tried to safely evacuate the helicopter from the area. However, the attempt was unsuccessful and the helicopter crashed.

Thus, the accident is yet another reminder of how dangerous such flights can be due to unpredictable weather conditions.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his grief

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami described the helicopter crash in Rudraprayag district as a “very tragic incident” and expressed his deep grief. He said that the SDRF (State Disaster Response Force), local administration and other rescue teams are working hard to rescue the passengers. He also prayed to Baba Kedar for the safety of all the affected passengers.

It is noteworthy that just a few days before this incident, another helicopter accident took place on June 7. The helicopter, which was carrying five pilgrims, made an emergency landing near Parasu between Guptkashi and Gaurigund. No one was injured in the incident. However, the pilot was reported to have suffered minor injuries.

It is a matter of concern that in recent times, there have been more accidents involving helicopter services on the Chardham Yatra route.

Another incident

A few days ago, an Air India flight crashed into the hostel of the nearby Baj Medical College within minutes of taking off from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad and caught fire. In this horrific accident, all but one of the 242 people on board the flight and 29 people on the ground, including 5 medical college students, a total of 270 people died.

This accident shows the risk of death to those on board and those on the ground at the same time. The aircraft fell directly into the campus of a medical college, affecting the students and staff there.

Such incidents call for increased attention to aviation safety rules and safety zones around airports. Strict measures are needed to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
