Volkswagen India has officially launched its much-awaited hatchback Golf GTI in India today. The car is designed to be highly efficient and offers a great speed experience. The new Golf GTI Mk 8.5 model is being brought to India directly from abroad in a fully assembled state.
This is called the CBU method. The ex-showroom price of the car is Rs. 53 lakh. Since it is brought in the CBU method, the final price of the vehicle is higher. The launch of the Golf GTI is considered a major evolution in the Indian hatchback segment.
First batch receives a huge response
The first batch of 150 units of the Golf GTI car has been fully booked even before its launch in India. This shows the anticipation and response for the car. Volkswagen is now planning to bring another batch of 100 units as the second batch later this year. Deliveries of this car to customers are scheduled to begin from June 2025. This confirms the high expectations for this model and its full market launch soon.

Powerful engine
The Golf GTI model is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 265 PS and a powerful pulling force of 370 Nm of torque. This type of engine not only makes the vehicle run faster, but also enhances its efficiency. Moreover, it is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
