New Tata Sierra: Tata Motors is set to reintroduce its popular Sierra model in the Indian market in a new form. The final design of this new Sierra model was unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in Delhi. The model is currently in the production phase and is expected to go on sale in showrooms by the end of the 2025-26 financial year. The Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) version with a petrol or diesel engine will be introduced first. After that, a fully electric model, an EV version, is also likely to come. If the EV version comes first, then the ICE model may be introduced.
Old look, new improvement in the Tata Sierra model
Tata Motors has continued the important design of its previous electric concept model in the new version of the Sierra SUV. Its exterior design will be reminiscent of the old Sierra. Currently, Tata is set to launch the Harrier EV first in its electric vehicle projects in June 2025.

Following that, the Sierra’s Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) version is expected to go on sale later this year. Along with this, the Sierra EV model is also likely to go on sale soon.
Sierra ICE model engine and gearbox options
The Tata Sierra’s ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) model will be offered with two engine options. It includes a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine and a 2.0-liter diesel engine. The petrol engine is capable of generating a maximum power of 168 PS and 280 Nm of torque. The diesel engine will deliver 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It is expected to be offered with three gearbox options: a 6-speed manual gearbox, a 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
Battery and Charging Technologies
The Tata Sierra EV is likely to come with dual battery options. This is expected to give a range of 500 kilometres or more on a single charge. It could also feature advanced features like DC fast charging, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) technology. This will make the Sierra EV a high-tech vehicle.
